Its not really to get our schedules because those are being mailed. All that's taking place is getting pics taken for the years book/ID cards and paying school fees. Should I bring my mom?

  1. That depends on how you and she both feel about it.  Does she WANT to come with you?

My mom was always busy working when I was a kid (in our family business) and I would have loved it if she had come along ever...we are talking about college even--she didn't even come to parent's weekend...

You are lucky if your mom will go, though it sounds like you don't really NEED her to.

  2. I went with both of my parents to 9th grade orientation on Friday, so you should bring your parents.

  3. Are you sure that's all it is?  Because, I work as a link leader on 9th grade orientation.  At our school, the freshmen get into groups and do team building, play games, and then take pictures and pay fees.  After that they go through a mock schedule of like 10 minutes in each class even though they got their schedules mailed to them.  Then there are more team bonding activities.

So, if that is the case, I would not bring your mom because no one else will bring their parents either.  My advice would be just to play it safe and have her give you some money.  You are old enough to handle yourself during freshman orientation.  Even if it is not the same as my school, I would suggest not to bring your parents.

  4. Well. it depends if you feel comfortable with it. I would bring my mom to pay the school fees. i'm also going into freshman year, but our school requires us bring our parents with us. so yeah.

  5. It probably doesn't matter, since you can probably pay for things and get your pic taken by yourself.

  6. If it has to do with paying school fees than maybe you should. If you're mature enough than you don't have to, it's no big deal really.

  7. It doesn't really matter i am bringing my mom. Just do what ever u want if you don't feel comfortable with it don't do it. I just do it so my mom can pay for the stuff that needs paying for. And so she can fill out papers.

  8. My school is huge and we have a seperate day for freshman (im a freshman too) there are so many people they have to, but from what a letter i got from my school says is that we go, have a 30 minute orientation with our parent(s) then the students go downstairs with the teachers or staff(whatever lol) and have like a seperate orientation while there is a parent orientation on the upper floor. I would say to bring her but if there are no other parents she could always leave.
