Question:

Should I bulk up or get ripped?

I'm 20 years old, 6'2 weighing 179lbs and I'm at around8-9% body fat. Maybe a little less. I want to get down to 5% body fat, look like a male high fashion model or sylvester stallone. I've been working out for 3 months and I'm on a diet for almost 1. I don't see big results, maybe because I look everyday in the mirror:P I've lost only one pound but I am getting stronger. My question is should I bulk up, lose the body fat I have and then cut down or should I continue my workouts and add even more cardio??

Thanks

  1. 5% body fat is unhealthy if maintained over long periods. Even models only hit that kind of figure during photo shoots, and then they put some weight back on.

Footballers I think are around 9-11% which is your mark, and they're like as fit as, and pretty skinny too. Going too much below this for long periods will be bad for you, and you won't have enough energy to work out either.

What most people do is bulk up over the winter months, with their emphasis on building up their muscle, and then as summer hits, they begin to cut back and get their body fat percentage right down for like a month of the peak summer.

  2. Your question makes zero sense.

In your own words, you "want to get down to 5% bodyfat".

Then, you ask if you should bulk up or get ripped?

    ?????

Please sort out what you want for yourself, THEN ask something specific.

We can't help you like this.
