Question:

Should I buy a 125cc motorbike or a car?

I've completed my driving test, but have not done any motorcycle training or tests. But I want a motorbike instead of a car, for 2 reasons of equal importance:

1. It's fun!

2. It's so much cheaper to insure and to keep fuelled, amongst a few other things.

The bike I am going to be saving for, second hand or first hand if I can find one cheap enough, is an Aprilia RS125.

Of course, I will have to do the CBT first, which is just 1 day of training that will allow me to ride for 2 years with an L plate. That should cost about £100, which won't be too hard.

What do you think? Should I go ahead with this and get the RS125, or wait and save up for a boring car that will drain all my income and be a complete waste of space (in my opinion!).

  1. motorbike.

  2. Sounds environmentally friendly !!  .. but think about a rainy summer's evening... when your taking your partner for a snog in the country.... think of the backseats... and all the fun you may miss out on..  Save for the car... its a lot safer too..

  3. It all depends on the climate. If you live in a warm climate then it wouldn't be a bad idea. If not then it would be smarter to get a car where you can use it all year round instead of just Spring/Summer.

  4. You should get a bike and it sounds like you want one too!

  5. i would go for the car. but thats my personal prefrance. go with whats best for you

  6. what a stupid question! get a bike you crazy dam FOOL!

    THE BIG T!!

  7. Depends what you'de rather.. Carry passengers and luggage and other things, OR have great fun on a motorbike..

Cars are just as fun when your young

  8. Bikes - Cheap to run

               More Fun

               Good getting through traffic

Cars - Better at higher speed

              ALOT Safer

              More comfortable

Can carry more than 1 and goods such as shopping

              Get stuck in traffic

It all depends on what you need it for. In my situation I would get a bike as I commute everyday through heavy traffic at low speeds and I am on a low wage so a bike would suit me.

    Hope this helps.

  9. if you are living in the uk get a car because the bad weather will ruin your riding experience . get a car because when your driving around you can fit in some of your friends u wont be as cold in the winter as would be on a bike .

personally i would rather have a bike but its not that practical in the uk .

    i hope this helps
