  1. They are cool, but most who buy dont use them much unless they are in an area they are not aware of.   I take the old way and just read signs, ask questions.  If you need on by a Garman

  2. I suggest the Magellan Maestro for highway-only use, or Magellan CrossOver for highway/hiking use. Great reception, easy to use, inexpensive.

  3. if you are horrible with directions and tired of getting lost go for it. it is also good because its kinda like a phone book too the POI(points of interest) are built in and have a listing of phone numbers and stuff, so if you are feeling like grabbing a bite to eat in an unfamiliar area you can look to see the closet restaurant and have the phone number there to make reservations

if you decide you want a gps system go with garmin you wont be dissapointed. in my opinion garmin is the best followed by magellan and then tomtom. to me it seems garmin has better route calculations.

if you dont want anything fancy(like mp3 player, voice recognition, etc...) go with the garmin 200. its only $150 and customer reviews rate it at 4.5 out of 5 stars.

  4. I have a GPS and it has been extremely helpful to me. If you really do have use for it I'd go ahead and get one. I have a Garmin and I love it.

  5. I won a GPS from Tim Horton's and although I know my way around, I find it a very useful device.  You can find restaurants, shops, gas stations and many other locations with it.  You can get a very accurate estimate of your arrival time, and of course find your destination if you are not sure of where you are going.  I reccomend the Garmin Nuvi 250, as it is reasonbly priced, easy to use, and very precise.
