O.K. I know nothing about IPOD's or MP3 players accept that you use it for music. I have started a walking routine and I need one for walking. Which is better the IPOD or the MP3 player? Which is easier to use (basically idiot proof)? I don't need anything fancy or that can do 50 things. I just want something for music while I walk. Please give your reason for which one you prefer? Also, I don't want to break the bank with this purchase.

  1. MP3.

Ipod is really hard to get music onto if you arent very computer smart.

and if you dont have a mac computer its harder to get music onto.

I recomend an Mp3 by insignia, they are super easy to program, all you do is get the music you want upload it to the windows media player, make a sync list plug in the MP3, and click the button that says sync, wait till  it finishs loading, and you done!

    Hope i helped!

  2. IF you don't mind not having a screen, you can get a 2GB creative Zen stone w/ built in speakers & earphones for about $60. Great price & the sound quality is excellent. It has a shuffle function as well.

ipods aren't as good because while you are holding it, you can accidentally bump the sound up & you get a giant shock. The earphones leave a lot to be desired as well. My ipod earphones broke in 3 months & they sounded quite tinny.

  3. get the new ipod nano, you just press the play button and it playes your music!  plus it is small and you can just clip it to..i dunno but it is really easy to transport

  4. I like ipods better personally. The ipod shuffle is the cheapest version and costs $49 for a 1GB and $69 for a 2GB. They also are extremely small and very user friendly. There is only 5 buttons and 1 switch on the ipod. Also if you have problems there is a large support section on the apple website that helps you troubleshoot. If your ipod stops working due to a system error you can send it in to get it fixed or replaced. I would go ipod if i were you.

  5. I have always used iPods and in my opinion they are one of the best options. They have more memory than most basic MP3 players. The sound quality is great and the interface is nice. On the iPod, you can sort through music by name, artist, genre, etc... you can also put pictures on it and most models also play videos now. Plus you can create playlists.

If you don't care about any of that, and you aren't willing to spend $150+ you can get a relatively cheap MP3 player at any old drug store or grocery store. They can go for less than $50 These players work basically like a CD player, you just press the play button and go.

The iPod shuffle, however, is similar to these basic MP3's, but the sound quality is much better. The shuffle goes for about $50 or $70, depending on how much space you need.

  6. All MP3 players do the same thing at the end of the day. It all comes down to looks, and how easy it is to use.

The Ipod interface is very easy to use, but you also have to use Itunes, which I for one, hate. Then again, most reviews of these things say that the Sony ranges have the best sound quality.

If you know nothing of these things, then you're probably tempted to buy the Ipod, because it's what everyone goes on about, and it's a fashion icon now. But have a look around for some deals. Creative, Sony and iRiver are all great alternative makes.
