Ok, I've never even been on a boat in my entire life. But I'm fascinated by boats, yachts, etc.

My budget is around $20,000 ... and for this price, I've only seen very simple pontoon boats.

I'm going to Thailand this year - and I wanna go along the coast to Malaysia, and Singapore.

What sort of boat will be suitable for me? (It's just me and my girlfriend).

Should I buy 2nd-hand or new? What will fit in my budget of $20,000 ?

  1. If you jsut looking for a boat while your over there I would just find a place to rent one. That way you have to nothing to it besides putting fuel in it. As fo buying one for over here in the states you could get a really nice boat new (smaller) or used for 20k I would recommend getting a used one from a dealer that will give you warranty before you go and spend all kinds of money on a new boat to see how much your going to use it. Always remember what boat stands for

    B: Break

    O: Out

    A: Anouther

    T: Thousand.

Boats are very high maintness will always have to replace something every year. There are even a few clubs around (atleast down here in fl) that you pay a yearly due and you can just call them up tell them how many people and what size boat you want. show up take it out for the day or weekend bring it back fill it up and go home. dont have to worry about cleaning it nothing just fuel and a good time. try that first see how much you will use it before you spend THOUSANDS on one. Enjoy boating is a blast but VERY COSTLY

  2. No to much money.

  3. Aww jeez....bunch of dumb answers.

Listen...when you get there you'll find tons of boats...good used ones. You might even find a nice one under 10K maybe even around 5K.

Search www.yachtworld.com for the region you are visiting.

Even seartch the Net for those places in "quotations" and "Boat for Sale" with a plus sign(+) between them...you'll find brokers there.

You won't need to spend 20 unless you go new.
