Should I buy a house? I freelance and am scared to have to come up with a big payment each month.

I've been told this is the great time to buy and I'd be foolish to pass it up but it all makes me nervous.

No big house payment.  Home ownership is also a responsibility - a life style.  Figure out what your price range is in accordance with the monthly mortgage, taxes, maintenance, etc.   As far as the 'deals' out there - many have catches.  As your free lancing grows and you become more prosperous you will feel more assured  and there are always affordable properties in any boom or bust.  Forget peer pressure and go from your instinct.

a; never do anything against your comfort zone unless you have

to.

b; no one has to buy a house.

UNTIL it is a comfortable thing, either stay as a renter

OR.....find a county that has a Jan-Feb 09 tax sale

coming up and research their props to be TAKEN

and get ready to buy for $250-1200, total price!!!
