I'm a pretty good singer and would love to play my favorite songs on acoustic. I already have an electric, but I want to play outside and such. So what do you think?

  1. Absolutely.  You can't always rely on an amplifier.  I own four guitars, two are acoustic.

  2. acoustic guitars are always a good investment of money. it's all about what kind you buy. you have to take in consideration what wood and the tone it will give you. but yes you should buy a acoustic

  3. yes like a bassist will buy an acoustic bass guitar for ampless action

  4. An acoustic guitar is perfect when you play in various places, and when you know you are going to be switching places often. Acoustic does ok without amplification, making it easier to carry around and give you a decent sound. It is perfect as a backup for singing. An electric gives you a load of options when it comes to sound, depending on what pedals you add to your sound, however, it is a pain to carry it around, specaially if you plan on playing on plazas, cafes and are thinking about quick transfer from one place to another.

As far as preferability of guitar brand, your choice. I recommend that you try different guitars first, specially if you are going to spend a lot of money in one. Make sure you are happy with the sound of your guitar, that is the main insentive to sing and play. Best of luck with your music.

  5. Getting an acoustic will definitely let you play a greater variety of songs and styles. I personally prefer electric but it's nice to have both. I think Yamaha makes the best acoustic guitar, and they last a really long time.

  6. Actually acoustic guitar means freedom, "unplugged" style, smooth sound and natural music :) however, if you are used to electric play-style you will find it quite hard and fingers-harming to play acoustic (not for sure).

You still have a great option, yet, energy consuming : small portable amps issued by Marshall, Fender, and Roland also.

they work with 12V power, 1 Battery for approximately 8 hours. they are reliable, deliver a good voice quality and light.

Here you should either think music or money. For the best of your performance, you'd better use electric guitar.

for the best of your pocket, buy an acoustic one, it should have the same price of a tiny amplifier.

    it's your choice, Good luck.
