Should an 11-going-on-12-year-old buy an american girl doll? I have Nellie, Jess, Marisol, and Kailey but I want 2 buy Ruthie. I rarely play with the dolls unless I have a friend with me, but I REEEEELY want a new one.

  1. why do you want a new one when you hardly play with them now? if you dont play w/ them much. its probly a waste of money. and you might regret it

  2. if u rarely play with them then why get one. spend ur money on  something u will use alot

  3. I have a lot of them. I outgrew them so now they are in a box. They are really expensive but if you want one really bad go ahead and buy it. I never really played with them either they just stood on my dresser.

  4. i just turned 12. (i am a girl). I think that american girl books are great, but the dolls are way overpriced. If you dont even play with them much, then it probably is not worth buying one.  If your parents approve of buying the dolls and think they are good, then you can talk with them about getting Ruthie. Again, I personally think there are much better things you could be spending money on. How about knitting/sewing your own doll and clothes?!

  5. Why not?  They are awesome.  I just found a useful guide that is helping me choose for the next one :)
