I need to get a new set of golf clubs. I was looking to get a good set of clone/knockoff clubs, because they are much cheaper. Is this a good idea? What is a good website to order knock off clubs from?

  1. no,

buy a used set from ebay or the golf exchange.

  2. waste of money . you can buy brand name used sets , newspaper ads , flea markets used sporting good stores , use caution on e bay , cost at this time of year at pro shop to high . went to a garage sale , seen good golf bag , full of clubs , as a joke offered 5 dollars for bag , got the clubs included , set of forged honma irons graphite shafts 3 power built metal woods , 3 callaway irons . vert good wilson putter , and 4 bobby jones spalding irons . i have set of hogan edges , 3 to sand wedge , 70 dollars . great big bertha 2 driver , 3 wood , hogan hi bird . 150  with ping bag . those are the deals you can find .i think i would even sell the hogans cheaper to a junior . great deals are out there .

  3. Clones are most certainly NOT as good as the originals. They are made to LOOK like the clubs they are imitating, and nothing else. Clone manufacturers do not use the same technology or craftsmanship as brand name clubs, and thus do not preform like brand name clubs. Anyone who tells you differently is lying, or is not good enough  or has not used name brands clubs enough to notice the difference.

In golf equipment, you almost always get what you pay for. If you buy clubs that 'look' like name brand clubs but are half the price, expect to get clubs that perform half as well.

  4. No, don't buy clone set

If you want read something more about "golf",

more information i just come accross this blog which may help you.

  5. Cloned clubs are cheaper, but end up being more expensive in the end. Cloned clubs are made with cheaper components and tend to break much more often; and, when they do break there is no warranty, unlike the major manufactures. I work at a driving range and 9/10 times when a head flies into the range and we retrieve it, it's a knock-off. Get a used set of clubs from a major manufacturer, you will be much happier.

  6. I played with clone irons for 15 years and my handicap is about a 9.

Lately, you can buy last years models really cheaply and for about the same $$$$ as clones.  Try www.rockbottomgolf.com

    www.tgw.com

www.ranger golf.com  for complete clone sets

    Happy shopping!!!

  7. Eeay for you to buy here, included balls, gloves, bags, and all accessories

  8. THE REAL DEAL.......

Clones aren't "kinda" the same they are EXACTLY the same (literally, there is nothing patentable when it comes to golf club design, other then the name, and so companies can copy willy nilly).

When looking into new golf clubs the most important thing (in my opinion) is the shaft anyway and virtually all these "clone" companies offer the choice of the shaft you want (Dynamic Gold are the usually the standard shaft and most prices will include these, which are just fine).

Any other advice on here refers to aesthetics and has absolutely nothing to do with performance.

    Good Luck

  9. Spend the extra money

The real deal will help ur game a lot more than knockoffs

  10. The best way to buy clone golf clubs would be at a local clubmaker. They will fit you properly and will cost less than a new set of the real deal.

    However!

Clones will never be as good as the real deal.  There is a reason that they're cheaper.  Golf manufacturers like Callaway, Taylor Made, Titliest, etc., spend a lot on R&D and "patented" technologies that clones cannot legally use, even if they know what these companies are doing.  In addition, clones will not likely last as long or have the resale value to the same degree as the real ones.  Resale is important since it's likely at some point that you'll want to trade-up.

I would advise that you look into a good used set of Callaway, Taylor Made, etc. You can get some great deals on some of these, and you will definately get better clubs that will help your game and last as long as you want them to.

  12. Depends on your game.  If you have experience playing and are looking for game improvement then no.  However, my brother in law recently was given a set of Panzer clubs, which are clones to the Ping I2's.  He absolutely loves them and hits them very well.  They were a step up from the clubs he had been playing which was a set of Wilson starter clubs.
