Should I buy stuff when its on sale even though I already have plenty? It always seems like there's a sale. I already have unopened products like 2 bottles of Listerine and two cans of Febreeze and 2 packs of razors. This stuff is on sale again. Should I buy more?

  1. ~~These items go on sale so often if you have a good back up supply you will make it to another special. I go overboard too, can't resist saving the money-but my husband keeps me straight. It's better to save your money and stock up when you need to get an extra or two again.~~

  2. It depends... Do you use the items on a regular basis?  Do you need more soon?  Is the sale too good to pass up?  Do you have coupons for the items already on sale?

For example:  I clean a house part time for extra $$$ so I'm always looking for deals on cleaning supplies... I use tons of coupons and shop at the wholesale club store (Bj's) they take their own coupons PLUS manufacturer coupons.  So, even though I wasn't completely out of cleaning supplies I bought: a gallon + reg. size refill of WINDEX AND used Bj's coupon for $2.50 AND a manufactures coupon $3 and SAVED  $5- so  it cost $4.... I got 4 extra large cans of PLEDGE for under $2  AND SCRUBING BUBBLES 3 cans for $2!  I used more coupons and SAVED more than I spent!  I saved $40 and spent $34!  So, for me it works.. Plus I have storage in the garage for all my cleaning supplies.. What I purchased will last me about 6 months to a year...

I went to WALGREENS last night and "stocked up" on body wash they had a 3 for $10 on OLAY bodywash.... PLUS I had $2 off coupons for each as well as a spend $20 get $5 off coupon from Walgreens.

I also checked out there MONEY-SAVER/rebates sections and got PANTENE SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER which was on sale 2 for $5.99 w/ a rebate for $5.99 PLUS I used a $1.00 of coupon for 2  !  I got a JANE cosmetic rebate $4.99 so that was FREE and I used a coupon for buy a FEBREZE and get a AIR EFFECTS for FREE!  Which saved me $3 !

I bought- a few more items and filed for my rebates online when I got home.... For everything I purchased AFTER rebates, coupons etc... I paid $6 + tax for EVERYTHING!  PLUS getting $12 back by mail!

So, stocking up can be a good thing if it's things you use and have the storage for them......

    Good luck

  3. as long as

    - it won't expire or go stale

    - you have room to store it

    - you don't become a compulsive hoarder

    - you remember you have it

    - you don't have to buy it on credit card and pay interest

    go for it.

  4. If it always seems like there's a sale, then it will probably be on sale when you need it. Just watch the store circulars that come with the Sunday paper or in the mail. When you think you're about 2 weeks away from running out of something, see if it's on sale. And, if so, buy it then. Otherwise you're kind of wasting your money on stuff you don't need that's taking up space in your home.

  5. Think about how fast you use the items that are on sale. If it is something that you use contantly and run out of in a month. Then go ahead. Also think about how far away the experation date are on the products. Will you use it before it expires?

But if you already have multiples of what is on sale and all of it will not have been used with in 1 month. Do not by it.
