Question:

Should I buy these Mizuno MX-17 clubs?

I've bid on a set on Ebay. They are in good condition and my current bid is $125. The set is missing the 4 iron, but I'm a beginner, so don't know how important that is now. It does have the 3 iron. They sound like awesome clubs, but are a 2005 model. How much does technology change or how much does it matter as a beginner how old my clubs are? These seem like a great set for the price, so I definitely think I want them, but some input would be good.

  1. Again these are great clubs that will sell around 250. they are worth buying the name brand alone, but try to find some to hit first to make sure that you like them

  2. Its a good price for that clubs. Since your buying it in ebay I guess you can't return it to the seller. I hope you'll like the feel of it. You can always trade-in at Golfsmith or Golfgalaxy if you don't like it. The missing iron you can always replace the 3-4 irons with hybrid. Good Luck!

  3. I"ve never owned Mizuno, but I can tell you that the MX-17 and 25's are for lower handicap golfers. They are not easy to hit. That's a great price though! I wouldn't worry at all about not having a 3 or even a 4 iron. Hybrids are much more forgiving and so much easier to hit. A very easy-to-hit set of irons are the Taylormade R7's....give those a try and tell me what you think!

  4. start making solid contact with the ball first before you start worrying about technology.  Once you hit the ball consistent, then worry about tech.  Learn the rules too.
