Question:

Should I buy these pointe shoes?

My dance instructor was given a big box of pointe shoes so we could try them on in the studio with out teachers to help us. I found the perfect pair for myself - split sole, Leo's, but I don't remember the exact style, only that they were originally $60 and we were getting a huge discount so they were only $20. The only reason I didn't buy them then and there was that they didn't include ribbons or the ribbons and elastic was missing from the box. Should I go buy the pointe shoes or go buy them elsewhere?

  1. for ur first pair i wouldnt get a split sole because they break in easier and quicker and because u are a beginer u want something that works ur feet more but after a couple pairs u could go to split sole

  2. look at them take down the size and model then go to a professional dance shoe fitting. (local dance stores that fit pointe shoes correctly) and ask them about it chances are they will have them and they will make sure they are a good fit. they will most likely provide ribbons and elastic they may be more expensive but it will be worth it. it could save you from an injury and its exspecially important becuase these are your first pair!

  3. if ur teacher says it is all right for ur foot(split sole) than ya and just buy the ribbons at the dance store

  4. if you liked them...go ahead and buy them. even if you have to buy the ribbons and elastics separately it will be cheaper than having to go to a different store and get the same pair of shoes with elastics and ribbons.

  5. lol.. its a good price, i wouldn't say know- aslngas you could find suitable ribbons.

Mind, that would mean fussing around a little, if you could perhaps get a cheap pair... yes it involves rooting around... then dont get these ones. ther will be many more.

Money is an issue at times- but its worth the investment to get a sterdy pair.
