Should I buy this camcorder???

Should i buy the Sony Handycam DCR-DVD610 DVD Camcorder if all i want to do is make ALOT of videos and take some pictures. I dont want to make DVDS though. Is this camcorder, still good for taking videos on a memory stick? If not, which camcorder do you think is better for making vids and around 300$ or so?
