I had an interview with the hospital for a Phlebotomy tech.

They told me at the end that They would either call me and offer me the job or I would recieve a letter stating that I wasnt chosen. They said they would now something by next week....well that was last Tuesday. They called me this tuesday asking for a personal reference that they could call to get to know a little more about me.

I still didnt hear anything on Wed. so I called and asked if they had made a decision. She said that they hadnt made one but it should be anytime. So now its Thursday and Im going crazy with anticipation.

I dont know if I should be looking elsewhere.

  1. Yes, the "follow up call" is very important! You should call, not to ask if they have made a decision, but to say that you are still very interested in the job, to ask if there is any more information you could offer, and most importantly, to say "thank you" for granting you an interview.

At the same time, you should definately be looking elsewhere. No harm in having several choices!

  2. Yes, give them a call. Be polite and diplomatic

You're being jerked around.  This doesn't mean you're "out".It is possible they're tring to reach your refererence. You know, "telephone tag" happens all too often, And for you, waiting is very frustrating.

When you are looking for a job, you continue to look until someone makes you a definate offer.   Telling you  that you have the job or they would not hire you  tells you absolutely nothing.. I hoipe this falls into place for you, but I'd keep looking.

  3. I would leave it till Tomorow the end of the day and if not then contact them on Monday! But do look elsewhere jsut incase you have not got the job +D
