  1. U should call. When I was 27 weeks I had the same thing happen and when I went to the hospital they had to give me a shot to stop it.

  2. I would definately call your doctor to have them check you out, but i had just about the same thing happen to me.  I started getting brax. hic at about 19 weeks --  just a couple a week, up until around 35 weeks when they started to increase to about 10 a day.  I was getting terrible tightness and pain in my chest and it was scaring me.  My doctor advised me to take maylox, or tums for acid, to relax-because it could be stress, and she said if this didnt help to go to the er.  Well the tums really worked and now i dont get as much tightness.

But call for sure and let them know right away, because you dont want to risk it being something else.

  3. Can't hurt to call the Dr and get their opinion on what you should do.  They are used to getting the calls. As my Dr's always say, we do this cuz we like to, so we are here for you.  GIve a call.

  4. They should subside soon. Usually braxton hicks are not painful. Just a little uncomfortable tightening feeling. As long as you don't get more than five in an hour, I don't think you have anything to worry about. If that happens accompanied by cramps and or any bleeding, call the doctor. At this stage in your pregnancy you will feel many braxton hicks. Good Luck and Congratulations!

  5. if he is anything like my dr he will say drink about 5 tall glasses of water and lay down if they stop it is because you were dehydrated. which is what happened to me.You should be fine. If they get more intense and closer together then you go to the er

  6. My Dr says to call if I have more than 4 in a hours time.  I think I would try taking a warm bath, lay on your left side, and keep drinking water.

  7. call or go to the er

  8. if your wondering if you should then you should, better safe then sorry, when in doubt call

  9. Braxton-Hicks contractions can begin anytime after week 20 of pregnancy. What you can do about them: Try changing your position during a painful contraction — if you’re sitting, stand up (and vice versa). Use these contractions as a chance to practice your breathing and visualization techniques. (If your partner's around, make him practice, too.) If your contractions are quite frequent (more than four in an hour) and/or you’re in a lot of pain or see any kind of vaginal discharge, call your practitioner.

  10. You can call just to put your mind at ease, but what you are experiencing is normal, and nothing to be alarmed about.  If your are getting bh contractions more than 4 times in one hour then you need to seek medical advise and attention immediately.  But you may find that this could be something quite normal for you for the rest of the pregnancy.

  11. it´s probably nothing but it never hurts to be on the save side.

  12. Braxton hicks are normal.  If you have more than 4 in ONE hour, then call your doctor.

  13. If you've tried drinking water and lying down and thats not working, you may want to call your doctor in case you are going into pre-labor thay can stop it. You don't want the baby to come too soon! The question I have are how painful they really are?

  14. call your dr and explain the situation. ask what they suggest you do. many dr's may want to see you in the office that day just to monitor you.

  15. i would call and get some advice, maybe something to stop or alleviate them, they might want to check to see if its real contractions. but for now resting is the best course. do wat makes you feel better.

  16. You're fine unless you are having more than 6 per hour for more than an hour, or if the contractions are actually painful, then you should call.

3 or 4 in a 3 hour time frame is totally fine and is not preterm labor.
