Question:

Should I care what my bf's family thinks about the name?

I really like to think of different but cute names. My sons middle name is Tayllen which I love cause it make him special. I'm pregnant now and I picked out a name I really like and it is very cute, but when my bf told his family they were all ho-hum about it. Is it rude that I don't care? He is good with it, I like it and my son likes it.

  1. your bf's family is only looking out for your son's best interests. and how do you know your son likes it?! he might even be picked on at school because of that name. a "special" name isn't necessarily a good thing.

  2. You're the one that is having the child it's not their child it's ok to have an opion on things but they can't make you change it, and if you do name you child that, they will end up getting used to it and over it... and ver adorabl name by the way, i like names like that aswell that are different and sweet

  3. its your boyfriends and your child.

i think its your choice on what to name the baby.

If they are going to be the grandparents, then they

will learn to love the child no matter what his/her name is.

  4. No, you don't need to care what they think.

  5. It is not their child to name, it is yours.  They will warm up to it. And if they don't, who cares!!!  YOU are the parent.

  6. it is your child so it really won't matter that they don't like the name. they can name their children whatever they like, just as you can

  7. NO as long as the two of you like it thats all that matters. My boyfriends parents are not crazy about the name Zoe. My boyfriend and I both like it and they will grow to like it with time.  Its just different thats all.

  8. Who cares if they don't like it there not the one who is pregnant are they? no. So name YOUR baby what YOU want. :D

    Meally <3

  9. Hes your son, I mean its nice to have everyone happy but the prime people here are you and your bf. dont worry about the others.

  10. Its YOUR child.

As long as your both happy it doesnt matter.

    They'll come around to it

  11. Their opinion matters as much as your family's opinion does. If it were my kid, I would find a name that me and the father agreed on and no one else's opinion would be considered. (Maybe our other children)

  12. i'd worry a little.  give them like two or three choices of names that YOU like and tell them that it's going to be one of them and thy can choose.  he probably liked the name at first and doesn't like it that much now.  it is up to you but you don't want to have your son being hated by his grandparents because of his name

  13. I went through the same thing with my fiance's family... and I didn't give a c**p what they thought either. :P

As long as your immediate family (your bf and your son) likes it, then go with it. Unique names are the best because nobody else can take that from you.

If you do something "traditional" (like grandparents and older generation parents seem to like) then it will be BORING.

  14. It doesn't matter what other people think of the name. You are giving birth and going through the pain and you get to pick the name you like.

  15. It only matters if you and your son like it. A child will be in your life forever and bf's come and go. Do what you think is right.

  16. i agree with you. it's your baby and you should name it.

  17. if u, ur husband, and ur son likes it than name ur child that name! why would u care what a bunch of people say that rnt even related to u?

  18. i thiknk you should tell them that  it is you child and that they should respect you unique and beautiful choice in names.

its fine that they dont like it but all that matters is that you and you lover like it:)

btw, i love that name TAYLLEN THAT IS SO NICE!

  19. Name your child something that you and the father agree on. It doesn't matter if his family or your family likes it. Do try however to pick something that the child won't hate while he's growing up. ;)
