Question:

Should I change my belly button bar?

So, I got my belly button pierced about 2 months ago and it was fine until recently where, sorry I know it's gross, whenever it's moved around a lot, a tiny bit of pus comes out.

I took off the ball at the top for the first time today and just removed it for a bit to see what would happen and then stuck it back in again.

It wasn't sore at all so I thought it might be ok to change it, but if I get a different one, would it get all infected or would it be ok? Thanks X

  1. No, dont remove it

and try not to let it move around too much....

for a few months puss will come out

i had my eyebrow done (i know urs is a belly button) 7 months ago, it still pusses =)

  2. The times they give you are horribly off, and it differs sooo much for each person i just think they shouldn't give you healing times. My ear lobes all took months to heal and they say like 6 weeks. My navel took MORe than a full year, probably like 14 months, but now i've had it 5 years and its in really good shape. My one eyebrow i had peirced about 11 months, it never COMPETELY healed.. it felt healed on the outside, but i changed it after about 6 months and it started bleeding. It actually got close to healed at about 10 months but then i ripped it a bit and it wouldn't heal back up, scabbed, and i took it out so the scar wasnt so bad. The healing time they gave me on my nipples was 1 year but they were pretty much healed for me after 2 months. However, i cant them on really stupid things, like headphones when i'm changing, or the cabinet door in the bathroom when i go to get more shampoo.. I've ripped one out HALF WAY twice now, sounds gross but they heal fast, which is weird because i'm a slow healer. My tragus also took a little more than a year and they say 3-4 months.

So you really just have to judge by how you feel. You have to remember that the inside heals last, so it might feel fine, but then when you pull it out and the threads run over it it rips really easily, and its soo hard and painful to get back in.

You're best to wait as long as you can and let it heal reaaaaallly well. If you have one with both ends able to s***w off, change the balls whenever you want and there is no reason to change the actual barbell.

I know its a new thing and you wanna change it, but just wait as long as you can and it will turn out better.

  3. Leave it alone! That was far to early to change it. Navels take up to a year to heal and if you really have to change it wait at least 4 months. There's no need to change it everything you've describe sounds normal.
