Should I change my last name???

hi, i am 15 yrs old living with my mom who is a single parent. My last name is hyphenated which is so annoying. My father is a total deadbeat who should be in the olympics for the excuses he makes up. I really want to change my last name to make it easier on me but he will be really upset when he finds out. Not only that his last name is more common and easier to pronounce. What should i do????

Do what you feel is right. It is easier with a single name last name.

Talk to your mom about it. She should be able to help you decide and make sure it is what you want to do before it is permanent.

You will have to go to court to have your last name changed...Do you or your mother have enough to pay the court costs?

Why not drop your father's name? It's your mother who raised you.

Your last name is more than your dead beat dad its your heritage your history your family.....I have issues with my dad to but I would never change my last name because of it you need to know where you came from always. Your last name has so much attached to it, not just your dead beat dad!
