Question:

Should I change my name on my passport?

I got married three years ago, but my passport still is under my maiden name. We are going to Australia for a month and I am trying to figure out if I need to change my passport to my married name.

Can't I just bring my passport with my maiden name, and my marriage certificate? I am avoiding changing my name on my passport because I still have a good 7 years before it expires...

  1. Well if Visa is granted then save the hassle and not change name !

  2. no. all names must be the same. save yourself a headache.

  3. Vay not, keep name, get other passport for married life and go australia

  4. No..you cannot just bring your marriage certificate...that is ok if it has just been a couple of months...but now ther has been plenty of time to change it.  You could have gotten it changed at no charge within the first year, but now you will have to pay the fee for a new one.  See site below  to see that info and 2nd site for all info for applying for a new one.
