Should I clip the flowers off my hostas?

I think they have sort of an untidy look with the flowers on them...what does it do to them (if anything) if I clip all of the flowers off?

  1. Allot of people don't like the look of the flowers on the hosta's.

    For landscaping beauty, just cut the flower stalk as it develops.

    It will not effect your plant in any way.

  3. Yes, anytime.  Hostas are hardy and you can mow them over and they will come back.

  4. . . . .or before they've withered if you don't like them. some people believe that the plant builds up leaves quicker if you snip off the flowers. Certainly won't hurt the plant.
