All,

My saftey inspection got expired on Feb 29th and I got a ticket on 4th March for parking with the expired Safey inspection.

Do you think there is any possiblity of getting waived off of the ticket if If I get it inspected today and then contest for the ticket and claim that I didnot notice and as soon as I got this ticket I got it inspected and have never been a violator etc...

  1. Many states will give you a 5 day grace period and if not just get the vehicle inspected and go to court with the receipt and it will likely be dismissed.

  2. I think if you went to court and showed the judge that you had got it inspected , he'd probably waive the ticket, but a lot of courts have gone to not charging you for the ticket, and only charge the court cost.   So I'd call the municipal court attorney and see if you could speak with them or set up time to meet with them and see if they'd be willing to wave the court cost, which may cost about the same as the ticket will. This type of ticket doesn't go on you driving record, and has no bearing on insurance.

  3. dude you cant fight a ticket like that, no offense to you but thats as dumb as what my friend did, he hrove in the HOV lane and his excuse in court was

it was my first time driving on the highway
