I have decided to work for one year to save money and then go to graduate school, but I cant decide whether graduate school or law school is a better choice.

  1. The world doesn't need another lawyer.

  2. go to both!

  3. Criminal Justice holds a lot of fields...try to be a little more specific, if possible, as to what it is that you want to do.  Policeman, Lawyer, Forensic Science, Indian Chief...what?

I would choose law school- it just opens the door for so many things in the future as well as the distinguished Esq. after ones name...furthermore, if that is the route you take...dont pigeon-hole yourself into a wierdo niche of law that inhibits your chances of employment...

With a law degree you can pretty much do anything (you dont necessarily have to practice law or BE an attorney- unless that is what you want to do).  Look into the financial pits of continuing education and go from there as well.   But seriously, get a grip on what it is youre pursuing.

If you want to be a police officer...no further education is really needed.

Why dont you do some research on what it is you want to do and then call up some firms or ask around with people (you actually know in your area) and see what they did.

  4. Graduate school.

  5. I wouldn't. Criminal Justice is hot at the moment. I see commercials for jobs all over the place on TV. You should definitely look into it! Forensics alone is hot:  I have often said that if I were to get another degree, it would be in CJ, and I would go after being a fingerprint expert. Maybe firearms expert, or work processing DNA.

There are tons of lawyers out there already, who needs 'em?
