Question:

Should I continue to hang out with her?

One of my closest friends stopped talking to me for about four months. She ignored my emails, and made no effort to communicate with me. I moved on to other friends.

Recently, though, out of the blue, she wanted to hang out, and now she is becoming almost...clingy. Every day, she asks me (along with another friend of mine) to do something with her.

After a couple days, my other friend has been making up excuses to get out of spending time with her, but I haven't.

It's nice being close again like old times, but I find it odd that after completely ignoring me that long, she is so friendly, as if she doesn't realize what she did, even when i bring it up.

She lost almost all of her other friends over the summer, and I have a feeling that the only reason she spends so much time with me is because I'm there, and she is bored. How do I know that she isn't going to do the same thing over again?

How should I handle this situation?

  1. i doubt it because she is bored, maybe she was hanging out with someone who wasn't a friend and needs to keep busy to forget that person people get tied up in life but true friends pick up where they left off get over it life is too short to hold grudges hang out, have a good time.

  2. i think that after not talking to you for four months she realized that she doesnt have that many friends. thats why shes becoming so clingy. youre probably her only closest friend and theres usually a reason for that. your other friend is probably making up excuses because she doesnt like her. shes only using you now to have someone. i think that if she could do the same thing over again, she would. its just that she has no friends to go to this time.

if you value her friendship, then talk to her about what she did and make sure she knows exactly what will happen if she ever decides to pull something like that again. let her know what she will lose.

if you realize that you dont need a friend like this, then mayb the other friend whos been making excuses has the right idea. just start doing that and she'll get the hint. and honestly, she deserves it.
