Should I continue with the dressage lessons?

I am adult from the U.S. who is just beginning dressage lessons in another country. The instructions are given mostly in the foreign language, with some English given periodically. Is this a potentially dangerous situation given my novice level?

  1. yes yes yes! you are verry lucy and it really helps.

  2. it depends on what you mean. are you saying that you don't understand the instrcutions, or that theyre teaching it differently then you learned back in the U.S?

if you cant understand, then yes, you could be mistaking certain instructions wrong, which could be bad if you plan on showing.

but if you're worried that the teaching is different, relax. i recently moved barns, and they wanted me to sit differently, hold my hands in a different position, keep my leg in a different positon, it took a while, but i began to ride like that, rode like that in my first show, and won overall champion! whereas at my old barn i always came in 5th...

anyways, if they're professional lessons taught by a respectable instructor, no sweat, they know what they're talking about, and riding is probably a bit different there.

sorry if this doesnt really help, im a hunter rider
