Should I date a man who has Aspergers?

I actually think I love him, and we were going to met, but my mom talked me out of it. The books I am reading give a scary outlook like they can become violent, and can't socialize and only mimic what you say. He is an intelligent nice person.

  1. Since your mom is not dating him, it is your business if you are of legal age.


  2. It really depends on how severe his case of Aspergers is. I dated a guy that had a very slight case of it, and aside from just having to think a little longer about how to reply to some conversations, he was just as normal as any other guy.

  3. If you think you can deal with it, it's cool. I would be more worried about future children and heretibility, though. Something you might want to think about.

  4. Yes I don't see why you shouldn't date this man.  Stop reading these books and learn to know him first, then, if required read up on the condition.

    There are psychiatrists, IT geniuses, science and maths professors out there who are all probably apergers but they lead normal lives.

  5. I told you in another one of your questions that I think you mean "bi-polar". People with aspergers don't mimic, but they might repeat something they already told you about, and not realised it. It's tougher for people with aspergers to get into relationships, because we don't trust others as well as other people might
