Question:

Should I ditch NJROTC?

Okay, I am going to be a sophomore in high school starting tomorrow. I was in NJROTC half of my freshman year, and i sort of liked it, it was just very stressful.

I am also an athlete, i play softball and swim. My goal is to get a softball scholarship to a university.

The only thing stopping me from getting out of JROTC, is that it looks good to colleges.

So my question is, would getting out of JROTC be worth it? like, could it really affect my chances of getting recruited for softball?

thanks in advance

  1. In my point of view NJROTC is worth it I mean yea it does bum you out after awhile like it did for me (I am a junior) but I still stayed (I mean you dont have to join the next school year) but it does help you in eduation wise in college there ROTC scholarship does help you find schools and you earn free tuition to college I bet you already know that and since your sport related cadet your softball scholarship and ROTC scholarship goes good in hand. but if you really think that the ROTC affects u and ur sports in anyway you could always ask your SNSI about the right solutions.

  2. As long as you have extracurricular activites like your sports, you should be fine. I really think it would be worth it because you can focus on your sports since you want to get a softball scholarship. Make sure you keep your grades up and you should be able to get out of NJROTC without any problems with colleges.

  3. The thing that will affect you chances to get into a good collage are more than anything your GRADES. Get good grades and consider joining the NHS if you don't want to do JROTC
