Should I do acting?

I'm kind of shy and I was wondering if acting would help me be more outgoing. I've always wanted to try acting, but I'm worried everyone will have lots of experience ( I'm 15 & I've only been in a couple of plays). & finally, what do you do in acting class (other than act)?

  1. Yes it would be great to overcome your shyness.

  2. acting is a great way to open up!! just do it to see if you like it and then if you become passionate about it work hard for it!! but if you arent passionate about acting dont get into the buisness

in acting classes you will do improv, scene study, character analysis, learn how to audition etc. just have fun and open yourself up!

  3. acting should help you socialize with others and be more outgoing.  What you do in an acting class depends on the teacher and the setting. Acting classes in public schools tend to be about acting instead of doing acting. Good classes teach you to do things you will need to do as an actor, like audition and hit your mark and act in front of the camera, bad classes have you do a lot of games, improv, script analyses, all not much help to actors.
