Should I do the BA program or the BS program in Chemistry?

I am go to school in fall and I want to be a Chemistry teacher. Should I do the BS in Chemistry (which is certified by the American Chemical Association) or the BA in chemistry... and What is the difference??

Bachelor of Arts is usually granted for subjects more in the fields of humanities.  I'm suprised they even offer a BA in chemistry.  BS would seem the better way to go here.

BS.  I think people would take a science degree in chemistry much more seriously than an arts degree.  Also, you said that the BS is certified by the American Chemical Association- does this mean that the BA is not?  I say go with the degree that is certified by a reputable association!
