Should I do writers' workshop?

I'm going into year 9 next year (Australia) and at my school they are offering Writers' Workshop. This includes writing a ten-minute play, advertising, speech writing(spin-doctor), song writing, situation and sketch comedy etc... In the future I want to be a neonatal nurse which includes having a score of 25 in english. Do you think I should do this writers' workshop? Of course I still do normal english but this is an extension english. If I do this I'll miss out on Design and Tech, Food Tech and Info Tech. Your writing above is pretty good, but if it helps you write better, by all means, you should do a writer's workshop.  Good luck.
