Question:

Should I donate my organs? (Driver's license)?

I instantly put yes, but now I'm thinking about it. If I decide I don't want to, how do I cancel it? (I put the cross in the box already)

  1. you can get a donor card from the DMV to keep with your license

  2. I'd like to donate my organs, but both my parents and my husband do not want me to. The next time I get my license renewed I may just check the box, but I hate to do things against my husbands wishes.

My idea of donating organs is ... what the heck are you going to need them for when your walking the streets as a corpse? I mean really?

  3. Why are you rethinking the decision?? It's an admirable thing to donate. If not for organ donation, my grandfather would have been dead when I was 11 instead of living til I was 22. Please don't uncheck the box or cancel the donation. Think of the lives you could save....the people you could allow to be able to see for the very first time. It's not a death wish to have that box checked.

  4. Donating your organs is a deeply personal decision.

Some consider it to be a selfless expression of compassion that helps another person to live

For others there may be reasons, such as religious teachings, that cause them not to desire donating organs

Since you have already "checked the box", and now have second thoughts about you decision,  I'm sure there is a way to cancel that option if you choose to do so.  Just contact your local DMV office and ask.
