Should I double major in accounting and finance or go for an MBA to be eligible to take the CPA exam?

If I just major in accouting I will finish in May 2010 and be 26 If I double major I will finish in december 2006 and still be 26. What do you suggest?

  1. Go toward getting the CPA exam out of the way.  Having the CPA gives you the flexibility to move into public accounting as a career if you desired.


  2. More businesses are looking for people with MBAs than people with an accounting/finance double major. Further, those with MBAs and their CPA are in more demand than the double major.

    You have the added benefit of being able to hit the job market sooner by grabbing the MBA. I guess I'm recommending that you get your MBA and take your CPA exam.
