  1. Definitely dress up. Doesn't have to be a long gown, but a pretty dress would be nice. It's great to see when people dress up to do out. Too many people don't and the result is we see jeans, t-shirts, etc. at fancy restaurants, the opera, and everywhere else...

Enjoy yourself..Wicked is a great musical!! I know you'll even want to buy the soundtrack after you see it, if you already don't have it...but buy it on half.com...cheaper!!

  2. Saturday nights are the most formal, and Sunday matinees are the most casual...Whatever you feel comfortable in really, people wear a whole range...A classy dress and dress shoes would be appropriate.

  3. A nice pair of slacks, and a nice shirt will do. :) It's more of a casual thing then anything. Don't where anything you'd wear to college/school. :)

  4. Well even when I went to Wicked in LA it was a dress and tie event. I'd dress up. Look nice. Its Broadway. And have fun :)

  5. You should definitely dress nicely, as to pay well-deserved respect to the actors, the theatre, the crew, and the orchestra. If you were to wear sweatpants or a T-shirt, it would be downright disrespectful. You do not have to wear an elaborate evening gown or anything overly extravagant, but wear a nice dress, or skirt and blouse. Just make an effort to look nice and respectful.

  6. You don't have to go all out but I would say dress up.

  7. OMG!  I LOOOOOVE WICKED!  You are gonna love it too, no doubt. =]

When I watched Wicked, I just wore sweatpants and a shirt! XD

You don't haffta dress up fancy-- you MIGHT stick out like a sore thumb.

ENJOY WICKED! =]  ITS MY FAVORITE MUSICAL EVERRR

  8. Business casual, or dressy casual.

Do NOT wear jeans, sweats, or a t-shirt (unless it's from Wicked). It's considered disrespectful to the actresses and actors.

I wouldn't say go buy new clothes or anthing, but it's nice if you dress well because a musical should be considered an event to get dressed up for.

When I went to Wicked, I wore a dress, flats, and a necklace that were all very nice. Not fancy persay, but they did the trick.

Wicked is an amazing show! Have fun!

  9. Business casual.  Don't wear an evening gown (you'll look ridiculous if you do), but a nice pair of slacks/skirt and a dressy top would be perfect.

"When I watched Wicked, I just wore sweatpants and a shirt! XD"

That would not be perfect.  Even matinee showings deserve better attire than sweatpants.  I'm shocked they'd ever let anyone into the theater in sweatpants - if anything sticks out like a sore thumb, it's sloppy dress.  Broadway is a special occasion, not some high school production.

  10. I have seen Wicked 10 times. I go in jeans, a plain nice tee-shirt, flats, earrings, and the occassional Wicked hat.

There will be people wearing jeans, shorts, and sweats and some will be wearing dresses. It really is optinal. If you are the type who likes to dress up I would go dressy-casual. Like, something you could wear to school, but on the high end. What you would wear to church (except cooler)

There are no rules. Just guidelines. And here is some I got off the internet. I dont agree with all, but they are pretty good.

    WHAT NOT TO WEAR:

Manpris (is it so hard to choose between shorts and pants? Be a man and dis the 'pri!)

Shorts (to the beach, yes. to the Theater, NO. I don't care how hot it it or how good you think you look in those daisy dukes.)

Sweatpants (The fact that I even have to mention these is sad)

Birkenstock sandals (Never ok, believe it or not, no one wants to see your feet! PS. wearing with socks may get you shot)

Flip flops (with anything -put a d**n shoe on already!)

T-shirts with more than one hole in them (trendy "hole" or not, trendy "saying" or not, Trendy "smell" or not)

Pajamas (No Spongebob, No "I <3 Brad", not even the "silky" kind)

Jeans you generally wear to wash your car, dog, carpets, etc

Athletic shoes/sneakers that have survived car accidents, beach wearings, fires, 15 days lost in the Canyon, animal chewings, mud wrestling, etc.

Baseball caps (it's not sunny INSIDE the theater and believe me, no one in the theater cares what team you like)

This leaves you a lot of choice:

Nice jeans, khaki pants, skirts, dresses

Nice T-shirt, a button down shirt, a silky shirt, sweaters Sandals, athletic shoes, work shoes (except if your work shoes are used in your septic tank cleaning job), mules, boots

    I hope this helps.

  11. I've seen wicked 9 times! and everytime i go, i dress up. However, i'm a sucker for fancy and elegant occations. But, there were also people there in jeans and sweats. It's completely up to! But.. all in all, it's an amazing experience!

    Wicked Is Absolutely Amazing!!
