Kay so, my bf's having a small party.. like 10 people.

They all plan on drinking a lot. I've drank just not a lot at all. I have driving lessons in the morning also so it wouldn't be a great idea to go with a hangover. I don't wanna be the "loser" of the party bc i'm not getting drunk.. and I don't wanna be the one telling my bf he can't drink at his own party because i'm not. My bestfriend is going with her bf and they don't drink..so i guess I could hang with them. My bf should respect that and maybe stay around with us, right? ahh why is this such a hard choice?

  1. Do whatever you feel comfortable with. I've been to plenty of parties where I've drunk a LOT and plenty of parties where I haven't drunk at all. No one really cares anymore, but I guess it depends how young you are. I can understand how you might feel slightly under pressure but really, no one should judge you for choosing not to drink. If they do, they're not a very worthwhile person. It's simple, just drink if you feel like it once you get there, but that doesn't mean you have to get wasted. One or two will do, or none at all if you're not comfortable with it at the time. Just because you're not drinking, that doesn't mean you have to be the one sitting in the corner not doing anything. You can still have a good night =) If people ask why you're not drinking, which I doubt they will, just say "Ohh god I have to get up early for a driving lesson, it's annoying but oh well, maybe next time." or something like that. Hanging out with your best friend and her boyfriend should help. One thing I will warn you, though, is that if you're not drunk yourself, being around very drunk people can be very annoying and tiring and you can find yourself feeling a little out of place (not in a peer pressure way, just in the way that they're all off their faces and you're watching how ridiculous they look) Also, if you're not used to being around people drinking, or seeing your boyfriend drunk, that could be a bit weird for you too. People can change when they drink, and sometimes not for the better. You may not like the person he becomes when he's totally wasted. Anyway, it's your decision, prepare yourself for all of these things, weigh up the pros and cons, and either decide to go and drink, go and not drink, or stay at home. The decision shouldn't be this hard and if it is it's clear there's something you're not comfortable with. Have fun! =)

  2. Nurse a beer all night, and laugh at the drunk people. They can be very entertaining to watch.

  3. Not very good to drink at all plus it would stay with you when you are trying for your license.

  4. go for it

  5. i think you're thinking about a minor problem. drinking at a party is fine as long as its not a problem for you in the morning.

people would respect the fact that youre not drinking because of your driving lesson.

if you drink a unit of(a can or pint of) alcohol it takes upto an hour to get it outta your system if you drink a few its takes a few hours to get outta your system.

so if you drink alot and go for your driving lesson next day chances are you'll be still drunk.

don't think to drink lots of water in between its an absolute myth that it keeps you sober - its the alcohol itself in your bloodstream that makes you drunk - water does'nt do anything to you.

    better to be safe.

anyways its a party enjoy it. alcohol is only there to keep people talking really.

  6. If you have driving lessons, don't drink.  You can have a good time without drinking.

Why should you tell your bf he can't drink? Is he driving? If not just worry about you.  You can hang with anyone at the party and not drink. The whole idea of a party is to socialize and have fun. So socialize, have fun, drink soda or punch.

In fact, get some special non-alcoholic drink recipes and feature those for the people who are the designated drivers or non-drinkers. They will appreciate it.

  7. The only hard choice here, is whether you really want to stay with someone who will only like you if you get drunk ... Stick with your best friend and her bf;  they sound like the only sensible people who'll be there.....

  8. yes pla s,,, i myself gonna drink

  9. dont drink, or if you have to have a drink*water*drink*water. if you constantly keep the water up (keep hydrated) and dont go overboard or MIX drinks, you shouldnt get drunk.

why not take a night off the drink ? you dont have to drink to have fun! and you'd be surprised how different people look when they are drunk and you are sober. and it can be very amusing.

good luck with that driving test!
