looking for a reach in either person and I only have a day to get Walker off of waivers. I have :

RB: Westbrook, Jamal Lewis, Matt Forte, Michael Turner, Deuce

WR: Reggie Wayne, Galloway, Chad Johnson, Burleson, Vincent Jackson

Who would be better to hang onto right now and why? Thanks!

  1. Not at this time. Walker is going to have a horrible year. He has pretty much thrown his career away.

  2. tough call.  I really think Oakland's passing is way too suspect right now.  Walker has issues as well.  Frankly, not only do I not like Oakland, but about the only guy I would have on that team is McFadden hoping he improves (I like keeper leagues).

As for McAlister, don't over-estimate him this year.  He has knee issues - I think I already heard he even has some swelling already.  Don't forget he had double knee surgery last years.  It would not surprise me at all that he gets injured during the year and can't finish out.  Yes, it is a RRBC approach down there (a lot of teams headed that way), but you may even consider the third string over Deauce - Pierre Thomas.  I really think we are going to see more of him this year.

Let's put is this way.  Keep McAllister if you wish.  I certainly wouldn't take a WR on Oakland over a servicable rb.  But at least watch Pierre Thomas very very close.  And pull the trigger quick  if McAlister goes down or if you see Thomas starting to work in more reps.

  3. drop vincent jackson instead.

  4. Javon Walker is playing in what will be a run oriented offense, meaning even if Walker get in shape, stays healthy, stays motivated, he still needs  to find a way to be Russell's #1 target. Alot going against Walker from the looks of it.  Duece is also an injury concern, but like it or not he's the man  in New Orleans.  Reggie Bush is not an every down back.  He especially isn't a goaline option.  Duece is, that's why i say stay with Duece, especially considering RB are much thinner in fantasy than WR.
