Question:

Should I drop math team?

I have been on the math team in my school for two years now (Freshman and Sophomore) and it's given as a class in my school (Math Research). When I got my schedule in the mail, they dropped math team and gave me one of my requested AP classes that period. Should I try to include math team, risking to drop an AP class? Or should I just leave math team this year and come back the next? Do colleges prefer being on the math team for all 4 years or being on it for 3 years and having intense courses like i have chosen? (Pre-AP English, Ap bio, AP USH)

Please respond, Thanks

  1. Do math team this year, so that the following year you can get a leadership position such as team captain.Colleges look favorably among people with leadership positions. You can always take more AP classes senior year.

If you feel like you haven't contributed enough to the team to eventually become team captain, then take the AP class.

    -Hope this helps:]
