Should I enter a competition?

I take ISI im in Alpha and I am wondering if I should enter a competiton that is being held in July, by the time that it comes around though, i'll be in Beta or Gamma [im taking the test in a week to get into Beta]. I can do the following:

T-stops, backwards and frontwards crossovers, backwards and regular lunges, shooting the duck [for about 2 sec.] and all the other basic stuff.

I was wondering if I should wait till I get much better and then enter, or if I should enter this one. Also, in ISI how do they split up groups? By age, level, or both?

  1. try asking your coach what competition you should enter-- coaches usually know best.

try googling Ice Skating Institute for their website and they have the different levels and rules and regs posted.

hope this helps. good luck with your skating!

  2. Yes.. if you think you are good enough then enter it..

I am not sure about how they split up groups, ask your coach or someone who knows.....

  3. Well if you can do all the stuff or even harder stuff, i think you should deffinately go for it!! You are good enough n matter what...you just have to practice and believe in yourself...

You might even win a GOLD MEDAL!!

Hope this helps and hope you win! (if you go)
