Should I enter into this beauty pageant?

I got a letter to enter into a beauty pageant for Miss teen North carolina and the only reason I would do it is because it said celebrities would be there and can possibly help me with my career. (I want to model, maybe act later on in life, and I'm interested in a music career)

Is that true? (anyone who has been in a pageant please answer and give information about what you did!)

It can help you if you win the pageant.  If you don't it can give you experience on a runway. The main thing in a beauty pageant is attitude and personality as well as a good ability to speak and think of a response quickly and be sincere. Beauty is important but not the only reason a person is chosen as the winner.  It can be quit expensive since you have to buy the outfits for the pageant and they have to be high quality clothes.  You don't have to be n pageants to model find an agency and work with them on setting up a portfolio and comp cards.  Best of luck in your choices.

take any opportunity to accomplish your dreams. i say go for it. but i have heard the girls can be mean, so if you can handle criticism well from jealous girls than do it, 100%. oh yeah and be smart not like miss teen usa south carolina. lol.

I'm no model master, but I'd assume that any publicity is good publicity, especially if there are celebrities there.
