  1. I race motocross and I work out tons. I run three miles every other day to get my endurance up and lift weights. Strong leg muscles are a plus.

  2. It wont do any harm.

  3. it depends what you want to do. you dont need much lower body strength because the bike has suspension. dont worryyy about getting too fit...like i dont have huge muscles and i dont want them since im a girl haha...but i am muscle toned and i think every bit of muscle helps. mostly try to work your abs and upper body...because now that i am muscle toned there i realized that i have more endurance with my bike.

    hope i could helppp

  4. Motocross racers are some of the most fit athletes in the world. The sport is very demanding physically so the more training you do the better. Most of the tracks I run have a women's class, so you shouldn't have to race against the guys. Weight training and running are both important for a motocross racer but lots of seat time is the real key to going fast.

  5. you should do some excrcise to increase your strength and fitness but you will gain new strength just by riding you bike at the track. i am 14 turning 15 and i bought a yz250f about half a year ago and just by going to the track every second weekend i have eventually gotten used to all of the strains of riding.

just keep training and you will gradually get stronger

  6. The upper part of your body needs the muscle, it will able for you to muscle any bike around the track.

  7. Racing motox is high up their for physically demanding sports possibly running second to boxing.  To be able to run a race and sustain the same lap time for 10 to 20 minutes is not easy.  Most who are not fit start to lag after the first couple of laps and then their lap times slip.  You only have to lose a few seconds a lap to change greatly the position you finish in.

Aerobic fitness is important so you can keep going as well as muscle tone to help shove the bike around, so riding a push bike, skipping rope and running will all help with that.  Toning up your body with light weights and doing sit ups and wall sits will also strengthen your core.  Have toned arms also helps with armpump.  So does making sure you hydrate before you race.  If really hot make sure you start to hydrate the day before.

Practise sessions on the bike that you don't just do one lap and then pull off for a rest will also help.  If you pull off after just one or two laps then you train your body to want to do that in a race.

For a few more ideas just put into google motocross training program and there are a few articles on fitness.
