Question:

Should I feel bad for doing this?

I have two chinchillas currently, and unfortunately, I have to give them up. First, I'm slowly but surely developing a allergy to them, I can't be in the same room with out weezing. And Second, I'm getting a puppy in the next couple of weeks, and she'll be in my room alot, and I don't want her to mess with the chins while I'm away& I don't want her contracting/giving any diseases from/to them.

I know I sound like I just had the chins for fun, but I really do adore them, but my health is suffering! I feel EXTREMELY bad, but If I doing it for my own health, should I?

  1. Wait, you are allergic to the chinchillas and not the puppy, that sounds odd! :]

If you give the chinchillas a better home then with you, then it is very fine! :]

I know you feel bad, but you have to think of yourself, too! :]

  2. If you are syffering ill effects from your oets, gve them away, however, even of you have a supposed hypoallergenic dog, be aware you can still become allergic to it. I have terrible skin allergies to my Aunt's yorkie, or any of the other breeds like them, because I have an allergy to the oil in their fur.

  3. try giving the chin's to someone you know like a friend/relative/work colleage so then you know their in good hands and you can still visit them. if its for your own health you shouldnt feel bad about it but before you give them away make 100% sure your allergic to them specifically and not something else. and congrats about the new puppy :P

  4. Well it was either the chins or you so i dont think you should feel bad. I would do the same thing if i was in your shoes

  5. Sorry to burst your bubble, but allergies don't come on slowly! You better come up with another excuse. That one is LAME!

  6. Maybe you should keep them in another room. But i guess if you sneeze everytime you're around them it still doesn't do much good, so i guess  giving them up is the only option. How do you know you won't become allergic to your puppy?
