Should I feel guilty for selling this iPod?

It looks brand new, second gen pink. My friend gave it to me, but it wont connect to iTunes and it has successfully charged on 1 charger from Target. I'm selling it for $40 and the guy is picking it up today. I told him "i have no idea what's wrong with it, i just dont have the effort to figure it out". He said okay. Should i feel guilty since most likely he won't figure it out either? Or is $40 not much to lose?

  1. You should mention all the details to him about what's wrong with it.

  2. well trust me, if he is willing to buy it with the knowledge that it does not connect, then I'm sure he knows how to fix it... don't feel guilty because you did tell him that it does not connect...

  3. He got a steal for an ipod for $40 bucks. He could fix the problem by googling.

  4. you should not feel guilty because you told the guy there was something wrong with it. Its his fault if he's stupid enough to buy an ipod which he knows is broken and then is not able to fix it.

  5. On ebay, you can buy used ipods for about that same amount.

It probably is not the ipod that's the problem though.  It's your ipod software didn't properly install on your PC, but you can buy another ipod back for 30-40 dollars on ebay. You can break even.

Also the first thing you should do when your ipod isn't working to the computer is plug the ipod into the wall (ac adapter).   Then once it synchronizes and refreshes, you reset the ipod by holding down the middle button and the top of the wheel for about 7-10 seconds.

That usually does it, then reinstall itunes and ipod software.

  6. maybe  you ipod works, and it can probably work as a hard drive, he should feel guilty...

  7. he could probably get it fixed :P

    I mean,if I knew something was broken and couldn't be fixed,i wouldn't buy it.

  8. Don't feel guilty. He knows it's not working, and if he does know how to fix it he got himself a bargain.

  9. NO!  Once someone gives you a gift it is yours to do with it what you will.  Of course we want to be careful of their feelings, but I think the way you've explained it here is just fine.

  10. um i dont think theres anything wrong with the ipod. i think its just the usb that is broken. xD maybee ifu changed the usb it would work lmao xD
