Question:

Should I feel guilty?

I got an on-campus job and it is not what I had expected it would be at all. It is in the accounting office and I thought I would be just counting money. It turns out I have to do all sorts of deposits and data entering and a bunch of other things I don't understand. My schedule consists of an hour here and an hour there in between all my classes so I never get a break. I have only worked there about a week now and I want to quit. The reason is that I was offered a job that is only on weekends and I could work the same amount of hours in 2 days that I am working now in 5 days. I would have so much more time to study and get homework done during the week. Should I feel bad about quitting so soon?

  1. i dont think that you should feel bad at all, this will help you and with all that extra time you can use it to study and be with friends and family but i would let your boss no first, and dont worry the other job will be alot better.

  2. You shouldn't feel bad.  You're in college and you need to do what's best for you so you have time to study.  I'm surprised the college has an on-campus job that is like that in the first place.

  3. you shouldnt feel bad, its not gonna be something you want to put on a resume, but you dont need to feel bad for quitting, if they need you enough they'll offer you better hours to stay and if they dont need you that badly thats fine too. dont feel bad

  4. not at all .good luck in ur new job!!

  5. Employment-.

  6. nope if it's affecting your schedule go and ahead and quit because your school is more important, i'm sure they can easily find a replacement just give them a notice

  7. h**l no go for it. do whats best for you

  8. You come before a job...especially one you just started.  Do not kill yourself over a job.  They can find a replacement.  The store I worked at has gone through 3 new Assistant managers within the last month!

    Its all good.

And you need that time in between to relax, get a snack, see friends, or do homework.

  9. hi dude,

If it is affecting your schedule to complete homework and studies then please quit the job there is no prblm u can get a very good job again...

Because whereever you work WORK SATISFACTION is the main motto.. and the salary doesnt matter over there..

Because they call WORK IS WORSHIP... so you should love your work when you are not able to do it then its better to quit job and then concentrate on ur home work and then earn a job again when you find it is comfortable for you...

  10. No, don't feel bad.  Consider it a lesson in life.

It's employment at will, you can work wherever you want for however long you wish.  If a job isn't right for you, quiting may be the solution.
