Should I file exempt on my tax form?

i work at a hospital 30 hours a week making 10 dollars an hour. But im not going to be working that much when i head back to school in august. Im 20 and do not know what to file thank you

If you know that your total income for 2008 is going to be less than $5450, then you can claim exempt.

If you are a dependent and are sure you will make less than $5450 total in 2008, or are not a dependent and will make under $8950, then you can file your W-4 as exempt - otherwise, no.
