I am holding PAN number. Income below taxable slab. Have I to file returns?

  1. No, if your income is below the exemption amount, you do not need to file tax return.

  2. If your annual income (after deductions) is above 1,10,000 for FY 2006-2007; 1,50,000 for FY 2007-2008 you have to file your returns.

    But to avoid future delegations, It is advisable to submit your NIL return, showing your nett income.

  4. IF YOUR NET TAXABLE INCOME IS BELOW THE EXEMPTION LIMIT I.E. 1,10,000 FOR F.Y. 2007-08 & A.Y. 2008-09 YOU ARE NOT LIABLE TO FILE INCOME TAX RETURN. BUT ALSO IT IS ADVISABLE TO FILE NIL RETURN
