  1. If you really love something then don't let anyone say no to you.  Go for it.

  2. New carrer choice? h**l no! This is America, love. Follow you dreams relentlessly and don't let anyone stand in your way. Anyone.

  3. go for whatever you want. but when you do it, make sure you give them no reason to ever doubt your talent again.

  4. You should definitely go for your dream! Take as many acting classes as you can; enroll in acting camps over the summer and during breaks. Go to Hollywood and take an acadmey there; or to New York, and take a film school or a Broadway-type workshop.

However, to be safe, you should also consider another career (as a backup choice). By no means am I saying to stop trying - just make sure you have a steady job w/ a steady income while you're pursuing your dreams.

  5. I say follow your Heart ! If you do not have a crack at following your Career Choice then you will never know whether you would have achieved your aim in Life ! Someone, it maybe you or somebody else will end up doing what you want to do in your Life ! So if you do not end up chasing & possibly fulfilling your Dream in Life then somebody else will end up getting there before you & beating you to it ! You will have missed your chance at Reality in Life ! Go for it Girl ! Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained ! Good Luck !

  6. You should follow your dream, but not at the expense of everything else. Your two career options are very risky lines of work. In dancing/acting if you're simply not good enough, then you don't get hired. Also, the work is not regular at all. My brother's girlfriend is an actress and sometimes she is out of work for months at a time. She's a good actress (and I'm not just saying that!), but the work is irregular. You even have to do free shows simply to get experience up. The directors know that you need the experience badly, so they know that they can get you for free a lot of the time! My brother's girlfriend has had to do quite a lot of free plays etc. as the bigger shows won't hire inexperenced actors.

Sports are also irregular. What if you have an injury? You have to rely on your current funds to get you healthy again. Short of being a gym instructor/coach, there wouldn't be much else to do while you recover. (No offence to any gym instructors :-)) You have to be extremely good (Not that I think you won't be, but it's a vicious line of work) to get anywhere in this career.

I'm definitely not saying "Don't do it", but I am saying that it would be a good idea to have something academic under your belt too, just in case your dream doesn't become reality. Your parents are simply looking out for you.

  7. no! If you have a dream, go after it! You parent aren't thinking about what u want. They r getting in ur way, nothing against parents

  8. I want to be a actress too, but my mom wants me to be a doctor. I still plan to follow my dream, when you follow your heart, you always make the right choices.

  9. i believe you should

though have a back up plan in case

  10. Follow your dream, Kelly, but remember that all actresses have times when it's hard to find an acting job so its always a really good idea to get good qualifications and/or develop a vocational skill that you can use to earn money to fund your living costs, pay your bills and get you to those auditions!  The same goes for sports  - years of training and a career that most likely ends before you reach 40.  You'll need other skills to fall back on.  If you can assure your parents that you will work hard towards getting good GCSEs and Further Education qualifications then I am sure that they will help you all they can with achieving your dream.

I wish you every success, Kelly.

  11. The worst thing in life is to have to wake up each morning and hate going to school or work. You want to be happy, i assume, we all do. Whats better then waking up feeling great living out your dreams. Go for it. One day your parents Will understand, but never allow anyone to keep you from happiness, keep you from your dreams. Work hard and prove everyone who doubts in you or your dreams wrong! Good Luck! Have Fun! :)

  12. I wonder how old you are?

Just do what makes you happy (and safe) lol. If you want to dance, or act, or do sports, go for it.

If you still have highschool and middleschool to get through, just take classes in threatre arts... and dance.. and join sports. Maybe if you do all this and show your commitment.. and realize thatyou really do have a talent for it.. maybe your parents would be more supportive. Plus, once you get older, parents usually get less strict.. they may even approve of what you're doing, as long as you're keeping up with your grades! lol. and Once you hit college..you'll figure out what you wanna do.. you can always do both... major in something that will make you financially successful and also do double major in dance or theatre.. or just join sports. the world doesn't have to be black and white! mix it up =) do what will make you the best you can be.

  13. go for your goal
