Should I format my USB Flash Drive?

When using a briefcase on my USB flash drive I can no longer hit the update files button and update the files in the briefcase like I used to be able to do. Should I format the Flash drive to fix this? I don't know much about formatting disks. The reason why I ask is because usually when I used to format floppy disks thinking it could only do good the floppy disk no longer worked.

Absolutely. Make sure there are no files you need on it. Plug it in, go to My Computer, right-click on the flash drive icon, then click format...not quick format. This should fix your trouble so long as the drive isn't physically damaged.
