I want something playful and these are my ONLY choices.

I would like something that will play with me a lot and likes the exercise ball.

I don't think I want a dwarf hamster because people say that they bite and you cant hold them.....?idk if thats true or not.

I used to have a very young mouse but it died at a very young age so IO didn't get to see really what it was like o have a mouse for that long.

I also used to have a Syrian hamster but it was so MEAN! I couldn't hold it or nothing!

What do you think you would prefer for me?

I will have LOTS of toys in their proper cage.

PS- i know the basics like cleaning their cage and giving them water because in my lifetime I`ve had plenty of pets.

I would also like to know something that would be good for a 9 yr old. These are her only choices too.

PLEASE HELPS US!

  1. i think u should get 2 gerbils thay r great only iv got two my self and mine had 6 pups i hav got 3 for sale if ur intrested

  2. I bet none of you know how dwarf hamsters act I have one he started biting in the begining because he didn't know me much but after a few months he stopped because he knew me you should get two boy fancy dwarf hamster they love to l**k you when your fingers are wet.Mine felll asleep on a toy laptop this morning because it was playing a lulaby.

  3. Deff. only get ONE if you get one of them. Simply because the pet store employees usually don't know how to tell boys apart from girls!!!!

  4. very nice...  love them  ")

  5. none of those. get a rat. they are more friendly and do not stink. mice, gerbils, and hamsters stink really bad.

  6. PLEASE JUST DONT GET GERBILS!!!!

they are evil and bite everything to bits especially your hands. you cant hold tham because they jump away and run soooo fast so you cant catch them

    AND DONT GET TWO

my gerbils 2 were best friends then out of the blue 1 ate the other and then died - the evil thing

    GET A NICE ORDINARY HAMSTER

they are the loveliest cutest funniest softist things and i love them they are playfull half the time n sleepy the other half!! the perfect match.

if you dont get a nice pet for the nine yr old she may be put off pets 4 life n thats not good!!!

  7. For the nine year old I would say just a normal hamster, I had one when I was 7 and it was the cuddliest thing ever, and she didn't bite. If there is any way you could get a guinea pig for yourself I would suggest that, but they can't have excersize wheels, they nibble a little, but it doesn't hurt unless it's mad at you, and they love attention. They would play with you, because every day they need time to run around out of their cage and they can run around outside too.

  8. syrian hamsters are cool but they dont live very long and my old one wasnt that active so i dont think they r that active at all

dwarf hamster are cool but they are fast litttle buggers.. and if u pick them up wrong they WILL bite....but they are extremley active and my 2 robo hammies love the exercise ball..

my dad use to have gerbils...i guess thats like a syrian and dwarf hamster mixed with a long tail lol

mice. um thats a bad chioce theres really no diffrence between feeder mice and pet mice. and they have a short lifespan.

so if i was in ur position id get dwarf hammies or gerbils.

but hammies are so much easier to take care of.

p.s. can u only get females or males?

  9. i would get a teddy bear hamspter. they are so friendly and bite the least. dwarf hampsters are not a good pet. they bite a lot because they are not domistacated and no matter the amount of time u hold it it will always be like that.  mice dont live long at all. and gerbils are ok but hampsters make better pets.

  10. For you, I'd recommend either two dwarf hamsters or 1 syrian hamster. They tend to like exercise balls. Gerbils tend not to. I'm not sure about mice. They're also fairly playful. Gerbils aren't the kind of animal that like to be held for long periods of time. They'd much rather run around than be held. With any animal, it's all in how they're raised and bred. As long as you tame the pet, it shouldn't bite.

For the 9 year old, I would recommend 1 syrian hamster. They're easier to hold and easier for a younger child to handle and care for. The other choices are a bit quick for younger children.

  11. uhh..imo and the dwarf hamsters I had they are hard to hold cause there soo small and i guess that your hands might seem like a monster to them they would bite

On the other hand my Syrian hamster LOVESS! to be held and played with.

Gerbils the ones i had VERY JUMPY and playful maybe a Gerbil then?

  12. i would stay away from gerbils, they don't seem to like exercise wheels or exercise balls.  mice are pretty smelly and like the wheels but don't seem to like the exercise balls. so a hamster is the choice, i would stick with a teddy bear hamster, stay away from the dwarfs.  if you want the hamster to be nice and not bite, buy it young and just hold it alot, i failed to do that to my baby mice and they were skiddesh and mean.
