Should I get AAA Roadside assistance or Insurance Roadside Assistance?

I drive an 07 Scion and was wondering if I should get AAA Plus or Insurance Roadside assistance. I currently pay $6 a year for Roadside assistance but I have to pay first and then get reimbursed and it only covers $50 each disablement. I was thinking if I should get AAA Plus which covers up to 100 miles for $76 because I know it costs quite a bit just for a hook up fee.

AAA definitely.  Good towing mileage, and other benefits.  One I recently used was lock replacement.  My trunk lock was damaged by a thief, and AAA covered the first $100 of a locksmith to replace it.  (And the locksmith's fee was $120, so quite a deal.)

Plus you get discounts with AAA at car rentals, florists, some clothing stores and other surprising places.

Insurance roadside assistance only kicks in if you have an accident.  AAA works for all roadside problems.

Used to have AAA because I drove an older vehicle and wanted towing since my insurance didn't cover it.  SO...when the occasion finally occured that I needed them, they were very pleasant on the phone but took FOREVER to get to me.  I was not in a rural location...I think the driver got lost.  

On another occasion, I locked myself out of my car, but they would not help.  I thought it was included. The other discounts they brag about are minimal....10-15% on hotels, car rentals,etc.

The roadside assistance that is included with your car insurance is a great deal: doesn't cost any extra.  Your car is only a year old or less; it should not present any big problems anytime soon.

I have had to use my insurance roadside assistance from Statefarm  several times in the last two years.

they paid for locking keys in the car, being towed for broken fuel pump, and something else.
