Question:

Should I get NETFLIX?

I'm interested in netflix, but before I do, is there anything I should know?

Are there hidden charges or fees that ever pop up? I'm not to familiar with it, so if someone can give the pros and cons to netflix (and if any rival services are better) that would be great! thanks :)

  1. Netflix is the best thing to happen to video rentals.....ever and they keep getting better.

I've used the service for 2 years and i love it. They have a distribution center in about every state now so i tend to get my movies next day instead of the three days it used to take. I get three movies at a time and unlimited titles and instant views per month.

You can also if you have broadband internet (cable, dsl or mobile broadband) watch a movie on your computer or XBOX 360. You can also buy a box from them for your tv and have unlimited movies streamed to it.

They have more movies than you could watch in one lifetime and can get really hard to find stuff.

The plans vary in price the only other thing you pay is taxes. They've only been late in shipping my movies once in two years and the customer service is very friendly.

You will have to have a credit card or check card to use the service and you can buy used DVD's for cheap if you ever get a movie from them and it is damaged they will send out a replacement as soon as you let them know.

Blockbuster has a similar service but suprisingly Netflix has more movies and Netflix gives you a free month (4 & a half weeks) whereas Blockbuster only gives you a free 3 weeks.

  2. I've had subscription to NetFlix and Blockbuster Online.

Both were ok, but Blockbuster worked better for me because it allowed me to return to the Blockbuster store near me and also get free rentals from the store.

    Here's a comparison at cnet.com:

I'd advise getting a trial membership to both and compare the service to you. The mailing times for both vary from city to city.

As for me, I've dropped them both and just borrow DVDs from my local library and also rent at the video stores near me.
