Question:

Should I get Qwest 1.5Mbps DSL?

My family and I live close to a beach so we're much farther away from everyone else. As a result of that, we don't get high speed internet where we live and have had dial-up for as long as we've had a computer.

Qwest has finally come to our area and we're finally thinking about getting the 1.5Mbps connection for $14.95/mo for the first year then $34.99 for life. Should we get it? Only three of us use the computer and we mainly only surf the net, download/listen to music, watch videos and play games. Would this be suitable? There's a 3Mbps plan but we can't afford it.

  1. 1.5 will be fast enough because i got 1.5 telstra and iam on 25g which is heaps and you wanna get the 12g if you are downloading music but you can always change you plan later with big pond so if you cant handler the payments or you are going over you always have that option

  2. !.5Mbit should be fast enough if you only have moderate computer usage going on. If your going to be doing things like Peer to Peering(Torrenting, ect.." you might want to wait a while and go for the 3Mbit connection. Or if it is just 1 computer it should be fine with the 1.5Mbit.

  3. YES!!! get it!!! you need a broadband connection to do the things you mention "surf the net, download/listen to music, watch videos and play games"

This one's a no brainer.  Too bad you can't afford the 3 Meg line.
